ITCARE & PAXIO – BUILDING A FUTURE-PROOF NETWORK TOGETHER

At ITcare, we don’t just operate networks we transform them. Over the past months, we’ve been working closely with PAXIO to modernize and optimize their network infrastructure through our 24/7 NOC Services and Professional Network Services, including architecture, engineering, and automation.
PAXIO’s network, like many rapidly growing service providers, evolved through acquisitions resulting in a diverse, high-potential but complex architecture. We were brought in to help bring structure, consistency, and long-term scalability.

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐞’𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐫:
🔹 Ensured all customer prefixes are advertised via BGP and that all traffic is now tunneled over MPLS (LDP).
🔹 Deployed a clean Route Reflector topology replacing the mesh of chained RRs with 3 centralized virtual RRs.
🔹 Unified ASN usage across the backbone, created RPKI/RIR records, and transitioned all IP transit and peering to a single PAXIO ASN giving full prefix visibility to all upstreams.
🔹 Optimized POPs by decommissioning redundant hardware cutting down unnecessary equipment and simplifying operations.
🔹 Standardized EVPL and L3VPN provisioning, phasing out legacy methods and aligning to a common service model (ongoing).
🔹 Reengineered their BNG platform to enable dynamic, scalable, RADIUS-based subscriber management (ongoing).
🔹 Began automation of provisioning, BGP peering, monitoring, troubleshooting, and service rollout (ongoing).

In addition, we’ve introduced a wide range of smaller but impactful enhancements from centralized user management and IGP/BGP fine-tuning to traffic engineering adjustments and performance optimizations across the board
It’s a transformation still in progress  but the foundation is stronger than ever.

We’re proud of the outstanding work our engineers Ilie Ursachila, Nicolae Musteata, Ion Siretanu, Maxim Gatman, and the entire NOC team have accomplished in such a short time. Rebuilding a network from within and transforming it into a clean, resilient, high-performing, and most importantly, future-proof infrastructure, this is what we love most.

A big thank you to PAXIO, and especially to Phillip Clark and Nelson A. Martinez, for the trust and collaboration. Your feedback motivates us, and we’re excited for what’s next.

To all fast-scaling providers out there: if your network has grown faster than your design can keep up with  we’d love to help.
