Three Network Operators Group Meetings in Three Weeks: Riga, Bucharest, Chișinău

Three network operator groups in three weeks: Riga, Bucharest, Chisinau. Here is where the ITcare team will be and what we are bringing to each one.

BalticNOG, Riga, 23-24 September

Andrian Visnevschi and Nicolai Moraru will both be in Riga. Together they present “Two years with an AI engineer on shift: what it fixed, what it almost broke, and the rules we wrote afterwards.” It covers what running an AI agent inside a production NOC actually looks like: more than 100,000 investigations over two years, now running live in four production networks. The talk looks at how the output held up once engineers checked it, and the cases where it got things wrong. Andrian also joins the panel “AI and Operators: Tool, Traffic or Threat?”

RONOG – Romanian Network Operators Group 11, Bucharest, 29 September

Andrian‘s talk is “The tooling exists, the filters don’t: why BGP policy automation still hasn’t reached most networks.” Peering Manager, bgpq4, Routinator and BIRD have been around for years. Plenty of networks still build prefix filters by hand, and some don’t filter at all. The talk walks through a working lab setup and looks at why adoption is still so slow.

A question for the operators reading this: how are your BGP filters built today? Generated from IRR and RPKI data, or maintained by hand? We’d like to bring real answers into the room in Bucharest.

MDNOG 1, Chisinau, 8-9 October

This one is close to home. ITcare is hosting the first Moldova Network Operators Group meeting together with Trabia, at Digital Park. Two days of technical talks on routing, peering, security, automation and infrastructure, and attendance is free. Andrian will speak about data center fabric design.

We go to NOGs for the hallway conversations as much as for the talks. If you’ll be at any of the three and want to talk BGP, MPLS, EVPN-VXLAN, NOC operations, network architecture or where AI actually helps in networking, send us a message and we’ll find time.
